Dubai motorists should brace for higher Salik tolls during peak hours this Eid Al Adha, as the city’s toll gate system continues with its time-based pricing from June 5 to 8.
In a Gulf News report, Salik confirmed that the AED 6 charge will apply during peak travel periods—6am to 10am and 4pm to 8pm—through all 10 toll gates across the emirate. Outside these hours, the toll fee will drop to AED 4 from 10am to 4pm and again from 8pm to 1am. No tolls will be charged from 1am to 6am.
Although Sundays normally carry a flat AED 4 toll, that policy is suspended during official holidays. As part of ongoing traffic management efforts, variable pricing remains in force even during long weekends and festive breaks.
This pricing structure was first rolled out on January 31, 2025, as part of a broader strategy to ease congestion and improve travel times across Dubai’s major roads.
In a bit of relief for residents, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that public parking will be free from June 5 to 8—excluding multi-level parking facilities.
