Actor Marco Gumabao has officially conceded in his bid to become the representative of the fourth district of Camarines Sur in the 2025 midterm elections, expressing gratitude to his supporters and pledging continued public service despite the outcome.
In a heartfelt social media post on Tuesday, Gumabao acknowledged the results, which showed him trailing behind incumbent Representative Arnie Fuentebella. According to partial and unofficial results as of 10:54 a.m. on the same day, Gumabao secured 95,089 votes, while Fuentebella garnered 122,306.
“Hindi man ito ang resulta na aming hinangad, alam kong ibinigay natin ang lahat, at buong puso tayong lumaban,” Gumabao wrote, emphasizing that despite the loss, he is grateful for the overwhelming support he received.
The actor also reminded his supporters that his desire to serve the community goes beyond holding a public position. “Ang serbisyo at malasakit, hindi lang nasusukat sa puwesto. Magkikita pa rin tayo, at magtutulungan pa rin tayo—dahil ang tunay na laban ay para sa inyo,” he added.
Gumabao ran under the banner of the National Unity Party, hoping to bring change and progress to the fourth district of Camarines Sur. While his campaign fell short, he assured his supporters that this is not the end of his journey in public service.
