Marcos achieves 61.8% satisfaction rating, highest among government branches

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has secured a 61.8 percent satisfaction rating in the latest survey by research firm Tangere, marking a 10 percent increase from the previous poll and making the Office of the President the highest-rated branch of the Philippine government.

The survey, conducted on May 8–9, 2025, among 1,500 respondents nationwide, credited the President’s improved rating to his administration’s fulfillment of campaign promises. Notable achievements include the distribution of P20 rice, irrigation projects that have boosted farm productivity, enhancements in pediatric healthcare, and the completion of National Housing Authority (NHA) units.

The survey results also revealed strong support for the President among lower-income groups (Classes D and E) and rural areas. The Cabinet’s satisfaction rating similarly improved, rising from 49.4 percent to 51.9 percent.

In contrast, the Philippine National Police (PNP) received the lowest satisfaction rating at 44.4 percent. Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte, who is currently undergoing an impeachment trial in the Senate, registered a 48.4 percent satisfaction rating.

The survey also assessed other branches of government, with the House of Representatives emerging as the top performer in the legislative branch at 55.7 percent. The Senate’s rating climbed to 49.5 percent, while the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, posted a 45.2 percent satisfaction rating.

Among the armed services, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) maintained strong public trust, with an average satisfaction rating of 60 percent. The Philippine Army led at 60.2 percent, followed by the Navy at 59.8 percent and the Air Force at 58.5 percent.

Independent commissions also saw varied ratings, with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) topping the list at 53.0 percent, ahead of the Commission on Audit (43.5 percent) and the Commission on Appointments (43.0 percent).

Tangere, a Comelec-accredited research firm, used a mobile-based application with stratified random sampling for the survey, covering respondents across the National Capital Region (12 percent), Northern Luzon (23 percent), Southern Luzon (22 percent), Visayas (20 percent), and Mindanao (23 percent). The survey has a margin of error of ±2.48 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
