Emirates and PAL eye deeper partnership for smoother travel between Dubai and the Philippines

Emirates and Philippine Airlines (PAL) are exploring ways to deepen their collaboration, with the goal of offering travelers more convenient flight options and enhanced services, following a meeting at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.

The two carriers are studying the potential of launching a reciprocal codeshare agreement on flights between the Philippines and Dubai, as well as other select routes beyond their respective hubs. Such an agreement would enable passengers to enjoy seamless connections with a single ticket, unified baggage policy, and competitive fares across both networks.

Beyond passenger services, Emirates and PAL are also considering closer cooperation in cargo operations, ground handling, catering, technical training, and organizing joint familiarization tours for media and travel stakeholders.

This builds on their enhanced interline agreement signed in March 2023, which already allows travelers to connect through Cebu and Clark to 10 domestic destinations in the Philippines, and nine international points via Dubai, making travel more streamlined.

Emirates, which began flying to Manila in 1990, now operates 28 weekly flights to the Philippines, including a circular service covering Cebu and Clark. These routes offer around 22,700 seats each week, connecting Filipino travelers to over 140 cities worldwide.

Reaffirming its long-term commitment to the Filipino market, Emirates also recently inaugurated its first Emirates World Store in Southeast Asia, located in Manila.
