President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos had an intimate anniversary dinner in Rome, Italy, on April 26 before returning to the Philippines.
The First Couple marked their wedding anniversary earlier this month, on April 17.
Their trip to Europe was primarily to attend the funeral of Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, where world leaders, dignitaries, and thousands of Catholic faithful gathered. Marcos said he made the journey “as a gesture of deep respect” for the late pontiff.
While in Rome, the First Lady shared a personal moment online, proudly showcasing a bag crafted in Marikina. “Strolling through the streets of Rome with my trusty Marikina bag — proudly carrying a piece of home wherever I go!” she wrote.
