Albuera mayoral candidate and confessed drug lord Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa has lodged frustrated murder charges against seven police officers linked to the recent attempt on his life.
Espinosa personally filed the complaint on Thursday at the Office of the Assistant Provincial Prosecutor in Baybay City, Leyte. Under tight security, he arrived wearing a campaign T-shirt and a cloth sling supporting his arm, still recovering from a gunshot wound he suffered during the April 10 attack.
He accused one of the police officers, whose names remain undisclosed due to the ongoing probe, of being the gunman. Authorities confirmed that at least eight witnesses came forward to implicate the seven officers assigned to the Ormoc City Police Office.
