How this Baliwag artist is reclaiming his rhythm through raw and heartfelt music

Some musicians chase fame. Others chase sound. But for 30-year-old multi-instrumentalist Enzo, music has always been something more personal—something tied to memory, emotion, and survival. Known offstage as Florencio O. Solis III, the Baliwag native is turning years of quiet struggles and unfinished dreams into a remarkable debut album that speaks not only to fans of music, but to anyone who has ever had to start again.

Finding music in heartbreak and healing

Enzo didn’t initially set out to release an album. “I just started with one song intended for a single release,” he shares with TGFM. That song, born out of years of self-doubt and emotional hurdles, eventually became the foundation for what would become S.O.S., a full-length project released on Spotify on March 14, 2025.

Far from being a random collection of tunes, the album became a form of catharsis—a way for Enzo to reconnect with his identity as a musician after what he refers to as “several events in my life that’s on the tragic side.” Yet, rather than be defined by hardship, Enzo chose to move forward with music as his guide. “I’m still here, moving forward, and moving on with life,” he says quietly but firmly.

Raised in Baliwag and known for his thriftiness and loyalty to his roots, Enzo studied IT before briefly entering a college of music, only to leave after two semesters. Still, he never stopped learning. He taught himself to build guitars, record tracks from home, and arrange full compositions by layering every instrument himself.

Songs stitched from stories

One of the album’s standout tracks, Ika’y Panaginip, had a slow and deeply personal journey to completion. “It was one of the unfinished songs I had made way back in early 2023,” Enzo explains. “It felt like waking up from a bad dream. Since the flame in my passion got reignited, I just added lyrics and finally got it done—two years in the making.”

Another fan favorite, Hindi Maiwanan, tells the story of his strong emotional ties to Baliwag. “I can’t even stand leaving the place for too long,” he admits. “Kasi others leave their place to look for greener pastures… kahit may mag-offer sa akin, I’m too hesitant.” The song captures his love for walking around his town, even avoiding tricycles out of thrift. The track also features one of his proudest guitar solos and heavy bass arrangements.

The album also includes instrumental tracks that allow Enzo to flex his musical instincts without relying on lyrics. “Para lang mapahinga boses ko,” he says, “to let my creative side out na rin.” Each instrumental piece serves a purpose in the storytelling arc of S.O.S., including Moving and Moving, which transitions into a dreamy synth pad, and Okay Ka Lang, a deeply reflective piece that became the album’s longest track at seven minutes.

And then there’s Eunice Janine, the album’s triumphant closer. “This is more of a cheerful, triumphant song, lalo when it gets to the choir part,” he shares. Every instrument—especially the final guitar solo—was played with intention. “I gave it all to every instrument in this song.”

An unexpected muse and a return to songwriting

Enzo’s return to songwriting came during the 2024 holiday season after watching a segment on Eat Bulaga! featuring a singer-songwriter named Eunice from the “Singing Queens” group. “After finding out that she writes her own songs, I was amazed, and naging crush ko siya as in,” he admits with a laugh.

Her influence, though lighthearted at first, became a serious push for Enzo to believe in his own work again. “At that time, I was dormant sa songwriting… I didn’t find my songs good enough, so they were just for personal consumption.” But one day, he picked up his custom fretless bass and began composing a new melody. The result was U Nice (Pataas, Pababa)—a wordplay nod to his muse. “When 2025 entered, I completed the song. Then I thought of composing another, and another, until I decided to release it as an album.”

His family encouraged him to release the songs on digital platforms, and with their support, S.O.S. was born.

The next chapter begins

Enzo is currently preparing for a comeback gig slated for April 20, 2025—his first live performance in a long while. “Still figuring out yung members,” he says, but the excitement is palpable. Alongside that, he’s working on a follow-up EP titled Euenzo, planned for release in May. “These are new songs that I still can’t believe I got to finish in a few hours as complete songs,” he shares.
