Filipino-made Dubai dessert sensation now served in top Manila restaurants

Dubai-based Filipino pastry chef Nouel Catis, best known for the viral chocolate bar that fuses pistachio cream and kunafa, has returned to the Philippines to bring his signature flavors home for the first time. The collaboration, made possible through AF Hospitality, features limited-edition desserts crafted in partnership with the culinary teams of popular Manila restaurants A Mano, Ramen Ron, and Steak & Frice.

“A sweet homecoming only made possible with the dedication and hard work of our team. For the first time in the Philippines, the Filipino creator of Dubai’s most famous chocolate chef Nouel Catis unveils limited-edition desserts crafted with our head chefs at A Mano, Ramen Ron and Steak & Frice,” AF Hospitality announced in an Instagram post. The exclusive items are now available on the menus of all three restaurants across their locations until June 11, offering Filipino diners a rare taste of the dessert that earned international attention. Catis, originally from Dipolog City, rose to global recognition after creating the “Can’t Get Knafeh of It” chocolate bar and launching his brand SNA’AP, which showcases culturally inspired sweets with a modern twist.
