A newly launched service hub for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Hong Kong is now open, aiming to provide a safe and welcoming space for Filipinos abroad.
The OFW Global Center, located on the 18th floor of United Centre in Admiralty, was introduced by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to cater to the growing needs of the Filipino community in the city.
The facility is designed to be more than just a place to unwind—it also includes training areas for skills development and a cozy corner dubbed the Migrant’s Brew Coffee Shop, where OFWs can enjoy free coffee.
Managed by OWWA-Hong Kong under Welfare Officer Marilou Sumalinog, the center seeks to be a one-stop hub for inquiries, rest, and learning for Filipinos working in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is home to around 190,000 Filipino foreign domestic helpers, making up more than half of the city’s total FDH population, based on 2023 data.
