A private jet carrying former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte took off from Dubai on Wednesday, heading to Rotterdam, according to flight tracking data. The Gulfstream G550 departed from Al Maktoum International Airport just before midday local time, following an eight-hour layover.
Duterte, 79, was arrested in Manila on Tuesday under an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant linked to his controversial anti-drug campaign. However, it remains unclear if he was still on board when the aircraft left Dubai.
His legal team has filed a petition urging authorities to return him to the Philippines.
