House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez has approved the travel clearance request of Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte, allowing him to travel to the Netherlands and Japan from March 12 to April 15, 2025.
Duterte submitted the request on March 11, 2025, stating that the trip is personal and will be fully funded by his own resources. The approval was confirmed in an official document signed by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco on March 12, 2025.
The approval comes as former President Rodrigo Duterte, Paolo’s father, is reportedly in Dubai for a layover en route to the Netherlands, where he is set to appear before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
