Bong Revilla denies rumors of replacing VP Sara Duterte if impeached

Senator Bong Revilla has firmly denied circulating rumors claiming he would take over Vice President Sara Duterte’s position if she were impeached.

In a Bandera report, Revilla dismissed the speculations that spread online, calling them baseless and untrue.

“There were reports on social media saying if Inday Sara gets impeached, I would replace her. That’s fake news,” Revilla clarified. “That will never happen. I’m not that kind of person. No.”

He also stressed he has no interest in seeking higher office. “I have no ambition for that anymore. Maybe before I dreamed of it, but not now,” he added.

In the same Bandera report, Revilla also shared updates on his reelection campaign and highlighted some of the key laws he authored in his current Senate term, including the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act, Expanded Centenarians Act, Free College Entrance Examination Act, No Permit, No Exam Policy Prohibition Act, and the Permanent Validity of the Certificates of Live Birth, Death, and Marriage Act.

When asked if he has any plans to run for president in 2028, Revilla quickly shook his head.
“I’ve already been jailed because of things like that. I don’t want it. Let them have it. It’s enough that I’m helping as a senator,” he said.
