Derek says Philmar lacked accountability: ‘Own it, then maybe I’ll have some respect for you’

Actor Derek Ramsay has spoken out against Andi Eigenmann and her partner, Philmar Alipayo, after their rift dragged their common friend, Swedish national Pernilla Sjoo, into controversy.

In Ogie Diaz’s latest vlog, Ramsay defended Sjoo, who has been receiving backlash and even threats after being linked to the couple’s conflict. The controversy erupted when Eigenmann implied in cryptic social media posts that Alipayo had gotten a “love couple tattoo” with a friend—later revealed to be Sjoo—without consulting her.

Ramsay criticized the public airing of grievances, calling it “irresponsible posting” and advising against making decisions fueled by emotions. “Sorry Andi, I’m sorry. For me, you shouldn’t have done that. Kung galit ka, naiintindihan ko ‘yon… pero mali na nagpa-tattoo sila together. She’s a foreigner, she didn’t do it with intent to hurt you,” he said.

He also revealed that he and his wife, Ellen Adarna, were unfairly pulled into the drama. “Pati nga ako nadamay, sinasabihan na si Ellen, ‘Mag-ingat ka, aagawin si Derek.’ So doon na talaga ako magsasalita,” he added.

Eigenmann previously claimed that Sjoo had “betrayed” her by encouraging Alipayo to leave her during arguments. She clarified that while Alipayo did not cheat, his actions were still painful. Meanwhile, Ramsay pointed out that Sjoo had already apologized for the tattoo incident but is now facing online attacks. “She feels bad about it and even reached out, pero ang chismis, may inagaw siya. Then Andi follows up saying there’s no cheating, just betrayal. If you feel betrayed, deal with it privately. Pero ngayon, parang wala lang, okay na sila—habang si Pernilla, takot lumabas, natatakot sa pamilya niya,” Ramsay said.

He further called out Alipayo, saying, “Philmar, excuse me for using this term, pero magpakalalaki ka. Ayusin mo ang problema mo sa asawa mo. Pero ‘wag mong bastusin ‘yung tao na tumulong sa iyo sa lahat ng problema mo.”

Ramsay emphasized that he has no personal issue with Eigenmann or Alipayo but believes they handled the situation poorly. “Andi, hindi kita kaaway. Pero dapat hindi mo na pinost ‘yan. Philmar, the problem is 80% on you. Own it and stand up for the people you wronged,” he asserted.

This isn’t the first time Alipayo has faced controversy. In May 2024, he was spotted in a viral video with another woman, which Eigenmann downplayed, stating that her partner was free to talk to anyone he wanted.
