First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos met with the Filipino Social Club in Dubai during her working visit to the UAE, where she engaged with Filipino community leaders and discussed their contributions to cultural and national events.

The meeting, attended by the club’s president and board members, provided an opportunity for Filipino community representatives to share their achievements and discuss the Philippine government’s support for the upcoming 126th Philippine Independence Day celebration in Dubai. The event is expected to highlight Filipino heritage and unity, strengthening cultural pride among overseas Filipinos in the UAE.

As a token of appreciation, the Filipino Social Club presented the First Lady with a special painting titled “The Grand Mosque: A Watercolor Tribute to Unity and Diversity” by Dubai-based Filipino artist Edcel La Rosa Cabalan. The artwork symbolizes the community’s gratitude and the deep connection between the Filipino and Emirati cultures.

The meeting took place during First Lady Marcos’ visit to Dubai, where she also attended the World Governments Summit and participated in separate engagements, including witnessing the signing of key agreements between the Philippines and the UAE on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, extradition, and environmental cooperation. She also delivered a special address at the Collaborative Models for Development Forum, emphasizing international cooperation in sustainable progress.
