Two men caught with P6.93M shabu at Davao City checkpoint

Authorities in Davao City arrested two men suspected of drug trafficking after seizing over one kilogram of shabu at a checkpoint in Toril District over the weekend.

Task Force Davao and the Davao City Police Office identified the suspects as alias Mijan and alias Abden, who were stopped while entering the city in a pickup truck. Officers became suspicious of their behavior, leading to a thorough inspection of the vehicle, where the illegal drugs were found.

The seized shabu has an estimated street value of P6.93 million. Following the discovery, the suspects allegedly attempted to bribe the police with P16,800 in cash, but the offer was rejected.

The two will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
