Smugglers thwarted as Dubai Customs prevents entry of 1.2 tons of drugs

Dubai Customs successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 1.2 tons of psychoactive substances through an air cargo consignment, demonstrating the agency’s advanced security measures and vigilance.

Specialized teams detected the illicit shipment using cutting-edge security technology, detailed data analysis, and rigorous inspection procedures. Upon identifying the nature of the substances, authorities swiftly took legal action in coordination with relevant entities to handle the case in line with existing laws.

The operation, conducted by the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, reinforces Dubai’s commitment to combating transnational crimes and preventing illegal substances from endangering the community.

Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, credited the success to the UAE’s dedication to global security efforts, the deployment of smart detection technologies, and highly trained customs personnel.
