More Filipinos see improvement in quality of life, but gains slightly dip – survey

A recent survey by Stratbase and Social Weather Stations (SWS) found that 32% of Filipinos believe their quality of life has improved over the past year, while 25% say it has worsened. Meanwhile, 43% feel no change in their circumstances.

The study, conducted from January 17 to 20, 2025, among 1,800 registered voters nationwide, recorded a net gainers score of +7—classified as “high.” However, this marks a drop from the “very high” +13 in December and September 2024, aligning more closely with the +5 recorded in March 2024 and December 2023.

Regional data shows that Balance Luzon had the highest net gainers score at +13, followed by Metro Manila at +9, the Visayas at +2, and Mindanao with a “fair” rating. The survey also highlighted a decline in net gainers nationwide compared to December 2024, with Balance Luzon being the only exception.

Younger Filipinos reported the most significant gains, with the 18-24 age group scoring an “excellent” +34. In contrast, those aged 55 and older registered a “fair” -2 score.

The face-to-face survey had a national margin of error of ±2.31%, with regional margins varying between ±3.27% and ±5.66%.
