A small plane crashed on a farm in the southern Philippines on Thursday, leaving all four people on board dead, authorities confirmed.
The fixed-wing aircraft went down near Ampatuan, a farming municipality on Mindanao island. Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the crash, and the identities of the victims remain unknown, police said.
During the crash, the plane struck a water buffalo, leaving the animal with severe injuries, according to regional police spokesman Jopy Ventura.
Emergency responders arrived at the site and found the aircraft split in half, with all four bodies located near the wreckage, municipal rescuer Rhea Martin reported. Authorities have since sealed off the area for further investigation.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines acknowledged the incident but has yet to release additional details.
