Presidential son and Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos reportedly spearheaded the signature campaign for the fourth impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, a News5 source confirmed.
House leaders who backed the move include Senior Deputy Speaker Dong Gonzales, Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe, Deputy Speaker Jayjay Suarez, Assistant Majority Leader Jay Khonghun, Camiguin Rep. JJ Romualdo, Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega, Santa Rosa Rep. Dan Fernandez, and Surigao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Ace Barbers.
House Secretary General Reginald Velasco previously confirmed that lawmakers had already gathered sufficient signatures to push forward Duterte’s impeachment. The Vice President is facing multiple impeachment complaints over alleged misuse of public funds, violations of the Constitution, and betrayal of public trust.
With the impeachment process now progressing, the case will be deliberated in the House plenary before moving to the Senate for trial.
