Dubai to build world’s tallest wellbeing resort at Zabeel Park by 2028

Dubai is set to welcome the world’s tallest wellbeing resort as part of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, according to an announcement by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Named Therme Dubai, the resort will stand 100 meters tall and will be located at Zabeel Park. Expected to open in 2028, the project is designed to enhance community wellbeing and sustainability, aligning with Dubai’s vision for an improved urban lifestyle.

With an investment of Dh2 billion, the upcoming landmark will feature an interactive park and the world’s largest indoor botanical garden, capable of accommodating 1.7 million visitors per year. Covering 500,000 square feet, it will be divided into three sections dedicated to relaxation, restoration, and recreation.

“This project underscores our commitment to urban biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and providing enriching experiences for residents and visitors,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

The announcement coincided with National Environment Day, during which UAE President Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the country’s commitment to international climate action.

As part of its broader efforts to enhance the city’s livability, Dubai has ramped up environmental initiatives, including the planting of over 216,500 trees in 2024—an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous year.

The Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 also includes plans to develop over 200 new parks, expand cycling tracks by 300 percent, and extend night swimming beaches by 60 percent. Additionally, a new women-only beach will be introduced.
