A new report by travel platform Expedia has revealed key insights that could help travelers save on airfare when flying from Dubai International Airport in 2025.
According to the Expedia Air Hacks Report 2025, booking flights on a Sunday can save travelers up to 17 percent compared to booking on a Monday or Friday. Meanwhile, the cheapest day to fly is a Thursday, offering similar savings over flying on a Sunday.
The report also challenges the belief that booking flights far in advance guarantees the best price. Instead, Expedia’s data shows that booking 18 to 29 days before departure could also save travelers up to 17 percent compared to securing tickets three months or more in advance. However, delaying booking for too long comes with risks, such as longer layovers, sold-out flights, or increased fares.
For those planning holiday travel, the report warns that March is the most expensive month to fly, particularly around Eid Al Fitr. On the other hand, August is the best month for budget-conscious travelers, offering savings of up to 7 percent on international flights.
Melanie Fish, head of public relations at Expedia Group Brands, emphasized that these findings debunk common myths about airfare pricing. “Airfares are down, the end of summer is the cheapest time to fly, and booking too far out can actually cost you money,” she said.
For the best travel deals in 2025, Expedia’s data suggests booking a flight on a Sunday, flying out on a Thursday, and avoiding peak seasons like March.
