Stray mother dog rushes freezing puppy to vet, saving its life in Istanbul

In Istanbul’s Beylikdüzü district, a mother dog showed remarkable instinct when she carried her dying puppy to the doorstep of a veterinary clinic. Security camera footage captured the stray dog gently holding the lifeless pup in its mouth before placing it outside the clinic’s door.

A veterinarian, Baturalp Oğhan, opened the door and immediately took the puppy in for emergency care. The pup was suffering from a dangerously slow heartbeat due to the cold, and its survival seemed uncertain. Throughout the treatment, the mother dog stayed by her puppy’s side, Upworthy reported.

Thanks to the swift response of the clinic’s team, the puppy was revived and is now recovering alongside its mother. In a surprising twist, the rescued pup was found to be a sibling of another puppy that had been brought to the clinic earlier by concerned animal lovers, who believed it was the only survivor of its litter.

“We thought all of them had died. It turns out there was one sibling that survived,” Oğhan shared. “We placed it in intensive care, and it is now continuing treatment with its sibling.”

While most of the litter did not make it, the mother dog’s desperate act not only saved one of her pups but also led to an unexpected reunion.
