Erwin Tulfo and Bong Go lead latest senatorial survey

ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo and Senator Bong Go remain the top contenders in the senatorial race for the May midterm elections, according to a recent Tangere survey conducted from January 8 to 11.

Tulfo leads the pack with 58 percent voter preference, despite a five-point drop from 63 percent in the previous survey. His voter base saw a decline among younger respondents aged 18 to 25 and senior voters aged 51 and above.

Trailing Tulfo is Senator Bong Go, who secured 51 percent voter preference. Go’s stronghold is among voters from Mindanao and those aged 36 to 50.

Erwin’s brother, Ben Tulfo, ranks second to fourth with 49.5 percent, while former senator Tito Sotto follows in third to fourth place with 48 percent.

Other notable candidates include former senator Manny Pacquiao and Senator Pia Cayetano, who are statistically tied for fifth to sixth places with 45 percent and 43.17 percent, respectively.

The seventh to 10th spots are shared by Benhur Abalos Jr. (36 percent), Senator Bong Revilla Jr. (35.5 percent), Senator Francis Tolentino (34.5 percent), and Senator Lito Lapid (34.21 percent).

The survey was conducted using a mobile-based app with 2,400 respondents. The participants were distributed across Metro Manila (12 percent), Northern Luzon (23 percent), Southern Luzon (22 percent), the Visayas (20 percent), and Mindanao (23 percent).
