Singer-songwriter and entrepreneur Rico Blanco recently shared an emotional update about his younger brother, King, who is battling an advanced form of cancer.
On January 23, Rico took to Instagram to reveal his brother’s diagnosis of aggressive squamous cell carcinoma affecting the sinus. In a heartfelt post, he shared childhood photos of their family and described his close bond with King, whom he referred to as his best friend growing up.
“This beautiful boy you see with me is my younger brother, King. Only a year apart, we did everything together, like best friends or even twins. I love him so very dearly,” Rico wrote.
The diagnosis, which came unexpectedly, was devastating for their family. “The signs all came too rapidly and seemingly out of nowhere,” he said, explaining that treatment for his brother had already begun.
Rico asked his followers for prayers and good intentions for King’s recovery, expressing his hope despite the challenging circumstances. “This is our toughest battle. Please, please help us win,” he appealed.
