Son decapitates and mutilates father in gruesome Davao del Norte killing

In a horrific incident in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, a 60-year-old man identified as Loloy Barlis was found decapitated and mutilated in his home on Sunday afternoon. Police discovered the victim’s headless body with multiple stab wounds, ABS-CBN News reported.

The suspect, the victim’s own son, was arrested shortly after the crime. According to Police Lt. Col. Wildemar Tiu, chief of Tagum City Police, neighbors heard a commotion at the father and son’s residence before the incident occurred.

In a particularly disturbing development, police reported that the suspect placed some of his father’s internal organs in a cooking pan and scattered others around a tree. The victim’s head remains missing.

A neighbor, Teresa Laurente, who nearly became a victim herself when the suspect chased her with a bolo knife, described Loloy as a peaceful and kindhearted man who regularly brought food to his son.

Police investigations reveal that the suspect may have mental health issues and will undergo drug testing. He will be charged with parricide.
