Maggie Wilson shared on her Instagram stories that a Philippine family court has dismissed a petition filed by her ex-husband, Victor Consunji, seeking to prevent her from communicating with their 12-year-old son, Connor.
The petition, filed under the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act, aimed to secure both Temporary and Permanent Protection Orders against Wilson. Consunji alleged that her actions were causing emotional stress and anxiety for their son. However, the court found no credible evidence supporting claims of psychological violence.
Wilson revealed that the case required Connor to testify in court, a situation she described as deeply upsetting. “Unfortunately, this exercise also subjected my son to being put on the stand at just 12 years old,” she wrote.
The court highlighted that Wilson’s social media posts about Connor reflected a mother’s love and longing for her child, rather than any harm or malice. The decision stated, “There is no reason to prohibit the respondent from communicating with her son. As a mother, the respondent has the right and duty to communicate with her son.”
Expressing gratitude to the court for its ruling, Wilson said, “I’d like to thank the judge and the members of the family court for seeing through what is right and just.” She also apologized for what she described as her ex-husband’s actions “wasting the court’s valuable time.”
Wilson ended her statement by reaffirming her unwavering love for her son, sharing a poignant photo of the two embracing.
The former couple, who announced their separation in 2021 after 11 years of marriage, have been embroiled in a contentious custody battle. Wilson previously revealed that she has been unable to see or communicate with Connor for nearly two years.
