Indian expat takes home $1 million in Dubai Duty Free draw

In the latest installment of the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion, another Indian national has hit a milestone, bringing home $1 million. The grand event took place on Wednesday at the Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 2.

The lucky winner is Syed Ali Bathusha Thivansha, an Indian expatriate residing in the UAE, who secured his victory with ticket number 4392 in the Millennium Millionaire Series 434. This ticket was purchased online just a few weeks ago, on August 30. Though Thivansha remains uncontactable at present, he is about to receive the joyous news that elevates him to the status of a millionaire. Remarkably, Thivansha becomes the 215th Indian national to grasp this title since the initiation of the promotion in 1999, underscoring the substantial participation and winnings of Indian nationals in this series.

The draw ceremony witnessed the influential presence of Dubai Duty Free’s executives, including Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Cidambi and others who carried out the draw proceedings, cementing the transparent and fair conduct of the promotion.

But the series of fortunate events did not end here. Following the grand presentation, the stage was set for the Finest Surprise draw, introducing the winners of two luxurious vehicles. Bishr Shiblaq, a German national who has called UAE home for 15 years, walked away with a majestic Mercedes Benz S500 in Diamond White color. “Thank you Dubai Duty Free. I’m glad that after so many years of trying, I finally won!” exclaimed Shiblaq, who had been nurturing hope through his eight years of participation in the promotional event.

Adding to the joyous atmosphere was the announcement of Stephane Guilleret’s win, a French national residing in the UAE, who secured a Harley-Davidson Nightster motorbike, a prize accompanied by his ticket number 0809 in the Finest Surprise Series 549. This win marks Guilleret as the 11th French national to have bagged a motorbike since the promotion’s inception in 2002.
