A 51-year-old woman was fatally shot by her male neighbor in Bacolod City, reportedly due to a longstanding dispute over alleged rumors spread by the victim about the suspect.
According to a GMA News report, citing police report, the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back, which led to her death. Authorities revealed that the two had been feuding since last year over accusations that the woman was spreading rumors about the suspect’s alleged infidelity.
The victim reportedly informed the suspect’s live-in partner, who is currently overseas, about his alleged extramarital affair. However, the victim’s daughter claimed that while her mother often conversed with neighbors, she did not interfere in the suspect’s personal life.
Law enforcement officials are actively pursuing the suspect, who fled after the incident.
