President Marcos calls on Filipinos to live a life of meaning and purpose this Christmas

On Christmas Day, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. encouraged Filipinos to embrace a life filled with meaning and purpose as they celebrate the season. He highlighted the essence of Christmas as a time to feel the presence of God in its most intimate form, fostering gratitude, kindness, and happiness for all.

“This makes both the celebration and significance of Christmas transcend the constraints of religion, extending its invitation of joy and thanksgiving to everyone no matter their background,” Marcos said in his Christmas message.

The President urged Filipinos to use the festive season to reflect on life’s true priorities while cherishing the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones and appreciate the blessings of the past year.

“As Filipinos take this highly anticipated chance to come home, reconnect with loved ones, and relish the blessings of the past year, I call on everyone to reflect on what is truly important: living a life of meaning and purpose,” he added.

Marcos also expressed hope that the holiday spirit would inspire love, peace, and a stronger connection to faith in every Filipino household. He called for emulating the guiding light of the Christmas story to bring hope to others.

“In our endeavor to build a Bagong Pilipinas, let us then emulate the light that led the wise men to meet the infant in the manger so others may see and experience the hope that the Lord Almighty freely offers to us all,” he said.

Meanwhile, the First Family shared a separate video message, encouraging Filipinos to celebrate the season in meaningful ways despite ongoing challenges. First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos suggested exploring scenic spots across the country, while the Marcos sons invited families to visit churches, enjoy Christmas lights, and spend time with loved ones.

“Ang Pasko sa Pilipino ay pagmamahalan at pagbibigayan. Ang Pasko sa Pilipino ay pamilya,” Marcos concluded, underscoring the simple yet profound joy of togetherness during the holiday season.
