Where to enjoy the best free New Year’s Eve fireworks in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and beyond

As the countdown to 2025 begins, the UAE is gearing up to deliver a spectacular array of free New Year’s Eve celebrations, featuring dazzling fireworks, laser displays, and drone shows across its emirates. Here’s your guide to the top spots for ringing in the new year.

Abu Dhabi’s breathtaking displays

Abu Dhabi promises unforgettable celebrations, with the Corniche offering prime views of a vibrant waterfront fireworks display. For those looking to enjoy a festival vibe, the Mother of the Nation Festival and Manar Abu Dhabi at Lulu Island are perfect spots. Over on Yas Island, two separate shows—at 9 PM and midnight—will illuminate locations such as Yas Bay Waterfront and Yas Marina.

The Sheikh Zayed Festival takes things up a notch with an hour-long fireworks show complemented by 6,000 drones painting the sky. While access to the festival requires a ticket, nearby areas provide an excellent view of the spectacle.

For motorsport enthusiasts, the Liwa Festival combines high-octane fun with fireworks set against the dramatic backdrop of Moreeb Dune. On Al Maryah Island, a series of laser shows will precede a grand fireworks finale, with The Promenade offering stunning viewing opportunities.

If you’re in Al Ain, Al Dhafra, or Ghiyathi, other locations such as Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Madinat Zayed Public Park, and the Tamm Centre area will host smaller but equally captivating shows.

Dubai’s iconic skyline celebrations

Dubai leads the charge with its world-famous Burj Khalifa fireworks, set to the theme “Beyond Dreams.” The show will feature cutting-edge light technology, synchronized music, and a breathtaking nine-minute display. Arrive early to secure spots at the Dubai Fountain Viewing Area or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.

Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk offers incredible views of the Atlantis fireworks without the need for a gala ticket. Al Seef, with its old-world charm, provides a picturesque setting along Dubai Creek, while The Beach at JBR and Bluewaters Island deliver synchronized displays over Dubai Marina.

Nature lovers can enjoy a unique celebration in Hatta, where the Hajar Mountains frame a fireworks display near the iconic Hatta Sign. Meanwhile, nearby locations to Global Village will offer free views of its seven hourly firework shows, starting at 8 PM.

Additional spots like Dubai Frame, Dubai Design District, and Dubai Festival City promise varied experiences to suit every preference.

Sharjah’s waterfront magic

In Sharjah, Al Majaz Waterfront and Khorfakkan Beach will host 10-minute firework displays, combining scenic views with a festive atmosphere.

Ras Al Khaimah’s record-breaking ambitions

Ras Al Khaimah is pulling out all the stops with fireworks and laser shows spanning Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra Village. A free festival featuring live entertainment and food trucks adds to the charm, but remember to register your vehicle early to ensure parking at Al Hamra Village. Note that road closures in the area begin at 4 PM on December 31.

Umm Al Quwain’s serene celebration

For a more relaxed way to welcome 2025, Al Khor Waterfront in Umm Al Quwain offers a midnight fireworks display in a laid-back beach setting.
