Travelers at DXB can now pre-declare goods with Dubai Customs’ smart app

Dubai Customs has unveiled a new initiative to streamline travel during the busy holiday season. The authority has deployed 77 inspection devices, enhanced staffing levels, and introduced advanced solutions to manage the expected surge of over 5.2 million travelers at Dubai International Airport (DXB) between December 13 and 31.

Among the innovations is the smart iDeclare app, which allows passengers to pre-declare goods, personal items, gifts, and currencies. This digital solution significantly reduces customs clearance times to under four minutes at the red channel, offering a seamless experience for travelers.

Khaled Ahmed Khoury, acting director of passenger operations, emphasized Dubai Customs’ commitment to efficiency and traveler satisfaction during peak periods. “The success of Dubai International Airport is a testament to the collaboration of multiple entities, including Dubai Customs, which ensures smooth operations while upholding security and efficiency,” he said in a Khaleej Times report.

Dubai Customs also highlighted its continuous coordination among duty teams and leaders, alongside real-time monitoring to address challenges during the holiday rush. For more information on customs guidelines, travelers can visit the official website at dubaicustoms.gov.ae.
