A 59-year-old groom was fatally shot just hours before his wedding in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, early Wednesday morning.
According to a GMA Regional TV report, the victim, identified as Andres Dacquioag, had just finished his bachelor’s party and was standing outside a convenience store with his fiancée when an unidentified gunman shot him in the head and back.
Dacquioag was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities recovered two bullet casings from a .45 caliber firearm at the crime scene.
Dacquioag was set to marry his long-time partner that same day. Police are continuing their investigation to identify the assailant and determine the motive behind the crime.
