A 24-year-old Russian actress, Kamilla Beliatskaya, tragically lost her life after being swept off a rocky cliff by powerful waves while meditating in Koh Samui, Thailand.
The incident occurred over the weekend at the Laad Koh viewpoint. CCTV footage showed Kamilla arriving in a red car, carrying a pink yoga mat to the rocky area below the viewpoint. Witnesses reported seeing her swept into the sea by heavy waves around 1:30 p.m. Despite immediate alerts to the Bo Phut Police Station, rescuers could not locate her at the time, finding only her yoga mat.
According to Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of the Samui Rescue Center, warning systems were in place across the island, with red flags marking hazardous areas during monsoon season. However, the cliff where Kamilla was meditating is a scenic viewpoint rather than a designated swimming area, which may have led her to underestimate the danger.
Kamilla’s body was found the next day on Chaweng Noi Beach, and her identity was confirmed by her boyfriend. Following the incident, authorities have restricted access to the rocky area beneath the Laad Koh viewpoint.
