DMW unveils official logo symbolizing hope and unity for OFWs

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) officially launched its new logo during the “Collaborative Pathways: Advancing International Partnerships for OFWs” event at the Susan V. Ople Building in Makati City.

DMW Undersecretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay shared that the logo reflects the courage and determination of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and embodies the Department’s mission to support them. The rising sun symbolizes hope and brighter opportunities, while the seven rays represent the seven merged government offices under the DMW.

The design also incorporates helping hands, signifying the Department’s dedication to assisting migrant workers. The hands, blending with the sun and stars in the Philippine Flag’s colors, highlight unity and national pride. The white elements represent the families OFWs leave behind, emphasizing their sacrifices.

DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac revealed that the logo design came from a competition held in November last year. The winning entry was created by freelance graphic artist John Jaeffer V. Javier, whose family member works as a mechanic in Saudi Arabia.

The logo will serve as a central element in the DMW’s official materials, including its website, social media, and advocacy campaigns.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by key government officials, diplomats, OFW leaders, industry representatives, and DMW personnel.
