An Indian political figure was offloaded from a Kolkata-bound flight due to disruptive and disrespectful behavior.
The event unfolded on a flight departing from Silchar at 2.20pm IST, causing a delay of nearly 30 minutes.
Sujit Das Choudhury reportedly refused to adhere to the standard safety protocol that necessitates passengers to switch off their mobile phones during take-off.
Despite repeated requests from the cabin crew, he continued to use his phone, escalating the situation to a heated altercation.
During the confrontation, he is alleged to have threatened a member of the cabin crew, arrogantly claiming that he could “buy the airport and her.”
This inappropriate remark and his refusal to cooperate compelled the captain to intervene, eventually leading to Choudhury being asked to leave the aircraft.
In a show of solidarity, several individuals who were traveling with him chose to disembark as well, joining him in protest.
