After the inaugural National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute Training and Workshop came to a successful close, the Eastern Province Community Chapter (EPCC) of the Knights of Rizal rejoiced in a significant accomplishment. Rizalian Values—Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow was the theme of the event, which aimed to inspire youth and improve their leadership skills based on the timeless principles of Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Attendees included members of the Young Knights and Young Lady organizations as well as pupils from Al-Majd International School (AMIS) and the International Philippine School in Al-Khobar.
Many distinguished Knights of Rizal were present at the momentous event, including Sir Elpidio R. Quitevis, KCR, MEAR Regional Commander; Lady Mae Quitevis, President of Las Damas de Rizal, Bahrain Chapter; Sir Carlos J. Casenas Jr., KCR, Area Commander, Saudi Arabia; and Sir Enrique M. Consul Dean Jason N. Arriola, the first secretary and consul at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was a notable guest at the event. He delivered an uplifting and instructive keynote speech on the topic of youth empowerment. Among the other distinguished speakers who offered insightful commentary were Sir Dr. Jordan Tovera Salvador, KR; Sir Timothy Justin G. Francisco, KCR; and Sir Ricardo J. Chuidian Jr., KR. The speakers emphasized the importance of instilling Rizalian principles in the upcoming generation of leaders.
The event’s guest of honor and keynote speaker, Her Excellency Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis, delivered an impassioned speech during the second half of the program. She spoke about how important it is for young people to lead in carrying out Rizal’s work. Bryan T. Baguio, First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of the Philippines in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, was with her and added to the event’s richness.
In addition, there were several engaging workshops planned for the event to help the young people participate and hone their leadership and creative skills. The workshops were conducted by trainers Sir Leo Mayo R. Parco, KR; Teacher Rodelio B. Tamayo; and Sir Pasciano A. Defensor, KCR.
At long last, the youth of the Philippines have a chance at a better future thanks to this leadership training and workshop. This momentous occasion is an important step toward ensuring that Dr. Jose P. Rizal’s legacy lives on. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event, from the presenters to the attendees. The chapter remains committed to advancing young empowerment and promoting Rizal’s leadership values in the future. As a result, the chapter is looking forward to ongoing initiatives to motivate the young of today to become leaders of tomorrow, and this first event was a strong demonstration of the power and promise of youth leadership.
