The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) revealed on Wednesday that 1,934 private companies were found violating Emiratisation policies from mid-2022 to November 19, 2024. These companies reportedly hired 3,035 Emiratis through fake practices to meet mandated targets.
Despite these violations, over 22,000 firms complied with Emiratisation requirements during the same period, according to the ministry.
Mohre warned that attempts to circumvent Emiratisation obligations would face strict legal action. Offending companies risk fines ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh500,000, potential referral to the Public Prosecution, and reclassification to the lowest levels in Mohre’s system. They must also pay all financial dues and meet genuine Emiratisation targets.
For individuals involved in violations, penalties include the cessation and recovery of Nafis benefits previously granted.
The ministry reminded private sector companies to fulfill their 2024 Emiratisation targets by the end of December. Firms failing to comply by January 1, 2025, will face significant fines.
Mohre urged the public to report violations via its call center at 600590000, the ministry’s app, or its official website.
