Las Piñas councilor advises Cynthia Villar to seek professional help after church incident

Las Piñas City Councilor Mark Anthony Santos has urged Senator Cynthia Villar to seek professional help for what he described as her “anger issues” after a heated encounter at a church.

Santos claimed the senator angrily confronted him while he was seated, accusing him of tarnishing her family’s reputation. “Bigla nalang sumugod po si Senator Cynthia Villar at sinigawan po ako. Sabi niya, ‘Gag* ka,’ tapos nag PI po siya. Sabi niya, ‘Huwag mo na akong kakamayan. Sinisiraan mo yung pamilya namin,'” Santos recounted.

The councilor denied Villar’s accusation that he was paying media outlets to attack her family, suggesting instead that the confrontation was triggered by his public revelation of the Villar family’s alleged failure to pay real property taxes for over 14 years, a matter reportedly settled in November 2023.

“‘Yung emotions niya o ‘yung anger niya, she needs a professional help talaga,” Santos said in an interview.

The incident adds tension to the brewing rivalry between Santos and Villar, who are both vying for the lone congressional seat of Las Piñas in the 2025 elections. Villar has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
