Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has chosen a name for his newest companion, a female puppy, after reaching out to his 16.7 million Instagram followers for suggestions over the weekend. The Crown Prince shared a new photo of the white-and-grey puppy and announced that she would be called ‘Luna’.
The name ‘Luna’ has Latin roots and translates to ‘the moon’, a fitting choice that resonated with Sheikh Hamdan’s followers. On Saturday, he posted an Instagram Story requesting female name suggestions, demonstrating his interactive approach with fans.
Known for his compassion towards animals, Sheikh Hamdan often shares moments with them. In 2022, he adopted a Saluki-mix stray dog named Grace, who had been cruelly shot with air gun pellets, and ensured her full recovery under his care.
Last year, he similarly engaged his followers for name suggestions for three new dogs, eventually naming them Layl, Mizoon, and Nahar, expressing gratitude for the support he received.
