Nadine Lustre is under scrutiny after promoting an online gambling platform as its brand ambassador. The actress announced the platform’s launch through her Facebook page on Saturday, Nov. 16, sharing a promotional image of herself holding a phone.
The post drew mixed reactions from the public. While many expressed disappointment, citing Lustre’s known advocacy for animal rights, vegan lifestyle, and environmental support, some fans defended her, urging others to respect her work choices.
Lustre has long been active in championing causes related to animal welfare and environmental protection. In August, she voiced her opposition to animal exploitation in zoos, and in 2023, she was recognized as a wildlife protector by a conservation group in Rizal.
Despite the current backlash, the actress, who was named the platform’s “muse” last August, has not yet commented on the controversy. Currently, Lustre is also busy promoting her latest film, Uninvited, featuring prominent stars Vilma Santos, Aga Muhlach, Tirso Cruz III, Mylene Dizon, and Lotlot de Leon.
