Just in time for the holiday season, a new airport bus route now connects Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to Imus, Cavite, providing a reliable transit option for arriving passengers, especially Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
According to a report by 24 Oras, following flight disruptions due to bad weather, NAIA has resumed regular operations. Airport officials are preparing for the influx of passengers returning home for holiday reunions, many of whom are OFWs.
Among these travelers is Hasheya Lopez, whose Dubai-to-Manila flight was delayed, requiring her to rebook for Davao. Lopez expressed appreciation for the OFW lounge, calling it safer and more comfortable than previous experiences. Another OFW, Jay Maliao from Saudi Arabia, highlighted the lounge’s welcoming atmosphere, allowing him a comfortable place to rest while awaiting his connecting flight.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has enhanced the lounge to include amenities such as a chef-prepared menu, which OWWA Administrator Arnel Ignacio says will make OFWs feel valued. Additional improvements, such as enhanced immigration counters, are also in the works, according to Manila International Airport Authority’s acting general manager Eric Castro.
The airport’s new Imus-bound bus is an added convenience for travelers heading to Cavite. Operated by UBE Express, the bus fare is set at P300, with a 50% discount available for OFWs. UBE Express President Garrie David shared that the bus route can be tracked online, improving safety and reducing the risk of exploitation by high-priced, unauthorized transport services.
