Dubai Police have established 13 inspection checkpoints throughout the city to identify unauthorized vehicle modifications that could cause noise and disrupt public peace, the department announced on X on Saturday. The initiative also aims to ensure that these modifications do not compromise road safety or the well-being of other users.
The move follows an incident where 23 vehicles and three motorbikes were seized within 24 hours in the Al Khawaneej area for causing disturbances due to illegal alterations. Authorities also issued 24 traffic fines to violators.
Maj-Gen Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, highlighted the financial consequences, stating, “The fine for releasing an impounded vehicle can reach up to Dh10,000 each.”
