Sharjah City Municipality has announced that impounded vehicles, machinery, and motorcycles that have been held for more than six months will be put up for auction on November 21 if not claimed. Vehicle owners who have not yet begun the retrieval process are urged to act quickly.
In a recent statement shared on Instagram and X, the Municipality advised owners to visit the Inspection and Control Department in Industrial Area 5 within four days from the notice’s publication date to resolve the reasons for impoundment.
Vehicle impoundment in the UAE comes with significant penalties, including substantial fines and black points, and can result from serious traffic violations like running red lights or car modifications that increase noise. The process for reclaiming an impounded vehicle varies by city, and during the impoundment period, the vehicle cannot be used.
