UAE introduces new Golden Visa for private school educators

Ras Al Khaimah has launched a new Golden Visa initiative aimed at private school educators, offering self-sponsored long-term residency for eligible professionals, as announced by the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAK DOK).

According to a Khaleej Times report, the programme is open to two key groups: school leaders—including principals, vice-principals, and directors—and teachers working in private schools across the emirate. To qualify, applicants must meet criteria such as having at least three years of residency and employment in Ras Al Khaimah, holding an advanced degree, and demonstrating a positive impact on school performance.

Educators need to submit several documents, including an official appointment letter, proof of educational qualifications, residency, and employment records, along with evidence of contributions to school success. The RAK DOK will assess the applications and inform eligible educators to proceed with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) for visa processing.

The initiative, which does not include school administrators, is available to educators of all nationalities, with no application fee charged by RAK DOK for the review. Family members of approved educators may also qualify for long-term residency. The review process typically takes up to two weeks.
