Air Canada is exploring additional flight routes to the Philippines, according to a statement from the Department of Transportation (DOTr). Secretary Jaime Bautista and Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines David Hartman recently discussed the potential increase in flights between the two nations to enhance trade, tourism, and economic links.
“This move will foster growth not only in our economies but within our societies as well,” Bautista said in the meeting. Ambassador Hartman expressed optimism about the expansion, highlighting the increasing demand for travel between the Philippines and North America.
The DOTr, under Bautista’s leadership, aims to establish more international routes to provide Filipinos with broader travel opportunities and attract more foreign visitors to the country. The Philippine government has set a target of 7.7 million foreign tourists in 2024.
