Snow blankets Saudi mountains as rare winter storms hit the Kingdom

Saudi Arabia is witnessing an unusual winter spectacle as heavy rains and hailstorms blanket parts of the Al-Jawf region in pristine white snow. Starting last Wednesday, downpours have swept across the Kingdom, intensifying in recent days to cover the mountainous areas with snow, creating a picturesque winter landscape.

These rains have also triggered waterfalls, revitalizing valleys and setting the stage for a vibrant spring. Known for its seasonal wildflowers, including lavender and chrysanthemums, Al-Jawf’s landscape has flourished under the recent showers, hinting at a lush spring bloom ahead.

Saudi Arabia’s meteorological department has issued warnings of potential thunderstorms, further heavy rains, and strong winds in Al-Jawf, with reduced visibility expected due to the ongoing stormy conditions.
