The world’s top female drivers from 25 countries are set to compete in the first-ever Formula Woman Global Nations Cup qualifying round at the Dubai Autodrome on December 12. The competition marks the start of a new professional motorsport initiative dedicated to women drivers, with the final event to be held in Dubai in May 2025.
A total of 50 participants will vie for a spot in the Formula Woman Global Nations Cup. This pioneering event will see the drivers push their skills to the limit, as they represent their countries in a bid to make it to the next level of competition. Formula Woman is the world’s only all-female motorsport community, currently boasting 5,000 members, including both aspiring racers and seasoned professionals.
The initiative aims to highlight and nurture female talent in motorsport, with a long-term goal of forming an all-women team for the prestigious 24-Hour Le Mans endurance race. Formula Woman has already captured significant interest from the motorsport industry and global media.
Representing the UAE in the qualifying round are four local drivers: Sofia Necci, Amal AlMheiri, Darcy Mead, and Manon Robillard. The region’s representation will also include drivers from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar, and India.
Founder and CEO of Formula Woman, Graeme Glew, expressed his excitement about bringing the event to Dubai. “We’re thrilled to give fans in Dubai, and worldwide, the chance to witness the remarkable abilities of these talented women drivers. Formula Woman is about providing a platform for female stars to shine on the global stage, and Dubai Autodrome is the ideal venue for this groundbreaking competition,” he said.
