Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban recently underwent a second hip surgery due to avascular necrosis, a condition that leads to the death of bone tissue due to lack of blood supply. This surgery comes just a few months after her initial operation in July.
In her latest YouTube vlog, Angelica opened up about her decision to pursue another surgery after feeling that her condition had not improved following her first procedure. “After a month of bed rest and surgery, I still didn’t feel better. In fact, my condition worsened,” she shared.
Angelica revealed that her doctor initially advised her to endure the pain for five more years before undergoing a full hip replacement. However, she could not bear the idea of waiting that long. “I can’t just lie down and watch my daughter grow up without being able to play with her. There is a way, and I won’t just accept this situation,” the actress explained.
Determined to find a solution, Angelica sought other experts and eventually underwent another surgery. The results were positive, and she shared her relief post-operation. “Within five hours of the surgery, I was already walking. The pain from avascular necrosis on my left side is completely gone,” she said emotionally.
Panganiban encouraged her followers to listen to their bodies and fight for their health. “No one knows your body better than you do. If you believe something is wrong, you have to advocate for yourself,” she advised.
