Dubai-based OFW reunites with children after 6 years in ‘Magpasikat’ performance on ‘It’s Showtime’

Emotions ran high on the Monday episode of “It’s Showtime” as the noontime show kicked off its 15th anniversary celebration with a deeply moving “Magpasikat” performance from Team Vice, Karylle, and Ryan Bang. The highlight of the performance was a heartwarming reunion between a Dubai-based OFW mother and her two children, ages 15 and 10, after six years apart.

The show began with Karylle, suspended in the air and dressed as an angel, delivering a poignant rendition of a song she had written for her late father, Modesto Tatlonghari. Her performance set a personal tone for the day, reflecting themes of loss, love, and remembrance.

Ryan Bang followed with his own tribute, offering a performance dedicated to his parents and the special dinner they shared earlier this year as a complete family—a touching reminder of the importance of familial bonds.

Vice Ganda then took the stage, presenting an interpretative dance that mirrored the trials and triumphs he experienced over the course of “It’s Showtime’s” 15-year journey. The performance was an emotional reflection of his personal and professional challenges, illustrating the perseverance required to stay in the spotlight for more than a decade.

As the individual performances wrapped up, Team Vice brought together their personal stories of hope and resilience in a grand, star-studded finale. Filipino supergroup SB19 took the stage with a heartfelt rendition of their hit song “Liham,” while Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo and Awra Briguela added their talents to the performance, amplifying the emotional impact of the number.

The biggest surprise came when a mother who had been working as an OFW in Dubai for six years appeared on stage, reuniting with her two children in a tearful embrace.

Vice Ganda, who had choreographed much of the performance, shared that the presentation was inspired by Karylle’s personal grief over losing her father.
