Host-actress Kris Aquino has provided a fresh health update after her return to the Philippines last month, following over two years in the United States. In a detailed Instagram post, Aquino shared her experiences undergoing medical tests and hinted at both her health struggles and a possible wedding.
Aquino underwent a series of tests, including a computed tomography (CT) scan of her chest and a positron emission tomography (PET) scan to check for cancer. She acknowledged her family’s history with colon cancer, referencing her late mother, former President Cory Aquino, and grandmother Metring Sumulong. “I share the same blood type with my sons Josh and Bimb, and my sisters,” she noted.
Thankfully, she revealed her intestines were free from visible signs of cancer. Despite this relief, Aquino shared a lighthearted moment where she confessed to sleep-talking about wanting a new pink Chanel bag.
Kris also disclosed that she is still battling five of her six autoimmune conditions, with three of them considered life-threatening. These conditions could potentially damage the artery connecting her heart to her lungs. She added that she’s allergic to all forms of steroids, which complicates her treatment further. Currently, she’s suffering from a Lupus Arthritis flare affecting her bones and knees and will soon begin physical rehabilitation therapy with a walker.
“I promised myself BAWAL SUMUKO. I need a goal, something for all of us to look forward to,” Kris said, adding the hashtag #tuloyanglaban, signaling her determination to keep fighting.
On a brighter note, Aquino hinted at an upcoming project set to launch by the end of the year, which will showcase her present-day journey. She thanked her former ABS-CBN bosses for the opportunity.
Ending her post on a personal note, Kris teased fans with a possible wedding, saying, “Apologies but until my groom and I exchange vows in that very small wedding (but surely not outdoors) I’m choosing to keep my relationship private.” However, she reassured her followers, “Invited naman kayong lahat if and when sa kasal.”
